everMany, LLC – Privacy Policy

We do collect information about visitors to our site, and about users who create everMany accounts. This policy describes what that information is, and how we use that information. everMany, LLC is the sole owner of the information collected on everMany.com.
Please Note: If you are under the age of 13 we cannot collect any personal information from you, and you should not create an account. If you are under the age of 18, please talk with your parent or guardian before creating an account and releasing any personally identifying to us.
Also Note: We will never ever prompt you for your everMany username, password, or credit card information from within a Flash game. We will only ask you for information about you and your account when you are at everMany.com itself. Never enter input your everMany password into any Flash game — regardless of what the game may ask.
There’s two basic aspects to our policy: The things we send to you, and the things we get from you. In addition, this policy covers how we handle user information with respect to third-parties.
What we send to you:
When you create an account we will ask you for your email address. We ask so that we can provide you with support regarding the software and services that everMany provides. Unless you have some other business relation with everMany, we will only initiate communication with you via email as specifically spelled out here in this policy. ( We are, of course, always happy to reply to any email that you may choose to send us. )
There are a few types of email you can expect from us:
- Account activation
- Password resets
- The everMany Newsletter
- Service related announcements
- Special offers
Account activation
Using the email address you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email that contains instructions on how to complete the activation of your account. When you activate your account you will be asked to enter a password. Your username and password will then provide you access to your everMany account upon subsequent visits to the site. We will store your username, email, and a way to validate your password in our database. Please see “The things we get from you” for more information on what we store.
Password Resets
If you forget your password, you can request a password reset email via the everMany sign in page. It is important to keep the email address associated with your account up-to-date. In the event that you forget your password, your email is the only means we have of contacting you. We will not reset or unlock any account except via our password reset mechanism.
The everMany Newsletter
We may occasionally send an electronic newsletter with information about the latest goings-on at everMany central. We will not typically send more than one newsletter a month. Within each newsletter we will provide a way to opt out of all future newsletters.
Service Related Announcements
We may send you strictly service related announcements on rare occasions when we feel it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance: we might send you an email. We will provide you with a way to opt out of all service announcement emails from within each such email.
Special Offers
We may very rarely send you information on new products, services, special deals, and promotions separate from our newsletters. We will not send such an email unless we believe there to be something of significant material value to all of our users. Within each special offer email we will provide a way to opt out of all future special offer emails.
What we get from you:
All of the data that we collect is used to understand how you (and other users) access our site so that we can better administrate the site and provide appropriate support and expansion for our site.
It is important that you understand: we do tie information about you and your usage history to your user account.
We collect three basic kinds of information:
- Information about your visits to the site;
- Information that you type in — whether into forums on our website, questionnaires on our website, or emails to us;
- Information about your everMany powered games.
everMany, LLC. at this time does not ask for – nor do we in anyway record – your credit card information.
Visitation Information
As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store that information in log and database files. This information may include: internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to better understand who is visiting our site, and how we can better serve our visitors.
From this automatically collected information it is not typically possible to identify the human being actually sitting at a computer and, in fact, we do not attempt to do so. We do, however, employ “cookies” to identify activity performed by a user on a particular web browser running on a particular machine.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. There are two styles of cookies that we use on the everMany websites: session based cookies and long term data storage cookies.
- Session based cookies
- These exist during the course of a single visit to our site help you navigate our site. They help track a unique “connection” to our web site as you move throughout the site and its pages. These cookies are automatically removed by your browser at a time of its choosing — typically when you close the browser window, quit your browser, or reboot your computer.
- Long term data storage cookies
- These exist across the span of several different visits. We use these cookies primarily so that you don’t have to enter your username and password on your next visit. If you check the “Stay signed in” box on either the registration page or the user sign-in page then we will store store one of these cookies on your computer. Our software asks your browser to store this cookie for three (3) months. That duration may be automatically extended each time you visit the site. For more information this option, please see the section on “Stay signed in” below.
While both forms of cookies used on our site store user related information neither directly stores your personal information.
Some of our business partners ( ex. advertisers ) may deploy their own cookies via our site. We have no access to, nor any control over these cookies. Please see the section on “Advertisers and Third Parties" below.
Registration
In order to use the everMany Developer Forums you must first create a user account and complete the registration forms. During the registration process you are asked to give us a valid email address. Your email will not be be made public, but we will store and associate your email with your user account.
“Stay signed in”
On everMany’s sign-in page there is a checkbox labeled “Stay signed in”. This option makes it possible for you to skip entering your name and password when you re-visit our site even if you have closed your web browser or turned off your machine.
Should you choose this option: anyone who is able access your computer may be able to access your everMany account and the personal information associated with your account. Please choose this option only if you are sure that you are the only person with access to your computer.
Forums
The everMany developer forums are publicly visible. Although we require users to create an account to in order to post to the forums, anyone may read the forums, see your posts, and see elements of your profile that you choose to make public. Further, all of the posts and profiles on this site are searchable by services such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing.
We consider this openness fundamental to the service and part of the sharing spirit inherit in computer software development.
We are not responsible for the information you share publicly via these forums.
As a general rule of internet safety: never release your credit card information, social security number, or other personal, private self-identifying information in response to an unsolicited email, private message, or forum post.
Due to the features that the everMany developer forum makes available, we have a history of the topics you’ve read, the posts you have made, and even the private messages that you have sent. The storage of this data is necessary for proper functioning of the site.
We do not provide for the removal of user information once it has been uploaded to the site. This includes your user profile, and any and all posts, including private messages that you submitted on the forums. You may, of course at your choosing, discontinue your use of this site and the services it provides. You do not need to explicitly notify us should you choose to discontinue your use.
Aggregate Information
We have no plans to sell or share any personally identifying information with any third party and will not do so, except if required by law. We may, however, use aggregate information to promote our site including, but necessarily limited to: overall traffic, most played games, and points of interest on our site. Additionally, aggregate information may be disclosed to advertisers and other third parties.
Security
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us. For instance, we don’t store your password in our databases, we store only a token that allows to verify if what you later type matches the password you originally created. We have no way of recovering your password if you lose your password; we can only help you to generate a new one.
That said: no method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
If you believe the security of your account has been undermined in any manner, please let us know immediately.
Legal Disclaimer
In accordance with our Terms of Service, we reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our company or its services.
Advertisers and Third Parties
Ads appearing on the everMany websites are delivered by third parties.
Third parties may use cookies, transparent GIFS, and other tracking mechanisms in the ads or links that appear on the everMany web sites. We do not permit the collection of information from your profile or from your posts – though to the extent that the forum is openly accessible we cannot reasonably prevent third parties from accessing information that you choose to make public.
We may share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers. This information does not identify individual users. We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information.
Links to Other Sites
This web site contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by everMany, LLC. Please be aware that everMany, LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.
Until that fateful day when there’s an industry wide standardized privacy policy adopted by all – we encourage you: be aware when you leave our site, and read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.
Powered by everMany
We can’t meaningfully control what kinds of information games that use the everMany multiplayer service ask you for, nor what those games store locally on your machine, nor what those games may transmit to third-parties such as advertisers or the site hosting the game. This is the long way of saying: a Flash game is still a Flash game whether it uses everMany technology or not. We cannot be responsible for how those games handle information that you provide to them.
Changes to this Policy
We will do our best to notify you via our site should this privacy policy change. In addition, we will not only keep old versions of our policies, but we will also try to provide plain language summaries of the differences between versions. For logistical and legal reasons, please keep in mind that use of the service – which includes the forums – constitutes agreement to any newly updated terms.
